A segment of Hancock Expressway immediately west of South Academy Boulevard closes at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, and reopens by noon Saturday, Oct. 3.
Crews will install storm sewer pipe, pave the roadway and rebuild medians and sidewalks as part of the South Academy Boulevard Improvements Project. The right lane of southbound South Academy near Hancock also closes, with more lane closures between Hancock and Drennan Road on Oct. 2–3.
Detours use Astrozon Boulevard and South Academy to the north, and South Academy, Drennan Road and Astrozon to the south. Business access stays open. Work is weather-dependent. Questions: 719-427-6422 or AcademyBlvdImprovements@gmail.com.
