Brooklyn Public Library unveiled the design for a rebuilt Pacific Library, a Carnegie branch that opened in 1904.
Safdie Architects and AYON Studio are leading the redesign, which adds an accessible entrance, an elevator and bathrooms, a sunken garden, a glass pavilion and restored skylights. Public space grows by 34%.
The library is expected to close in summer 2027 and reopen in fall 2029.
