Tybee Island City Council adopted tiered annual fees for short-term rentals on Sept. 10 through Ordinance 2026-05, Savannah Agenda reported.
The fee is $400 for rentals with one to five occupants, $800 for six to 10 and $1,200 for 11 or more. One member recused and the rest voted unanimously.
The same night, council unanimously approved a revised resolution supporting Tybee Island Maritime Academy planning in Memorial Park with a smaller footprint, focused along Fifth Street. Council said it wants greater transparency from the academy’s administration.
